Hi, I'm Mary, and I'm glad you're here.
I'm a retired registered nurse, entrepreneur, wife, traveler, and lifelong learner who believes that life doesn't stop after 40, 50, 60, or even 70. In many ways, it just gets more interesting.
After spending more than 25 years as a registered nurse, I retired and began exploring new passions and business ventures. Along the way, I discovered something many women already know: growing older brings new challenges, but it also brings wisdom, resilience, and opportunities to reinvent yourself.
Like many women, I've experienced sleepless nights, exhaustion, stress, racing thoughts, hot flashes, and the frustration of wondering why my body suddenly doesn't work quite the way it used to. I've spent countless hours searching for practical solutions, products, and habits that help make everyday life a little easier and more comfortable.
That's why I created Healthy Living & Thriving.
My goal is not to promise miracle cures or perfect solutions. Instead, I share information, personal experiences, product recommendations, and practical tips that may help women sleep better, feel better, reduce stress, and enjoy life more.
When I'm not writing, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband, Val, working on one of my many projects, planning future travel adventures, creating floral cupcake bouquets through my business, Fran's Cakes, or being supervised by our diabetic cat, Skeeter, who takes his management responsibilities very seriously.
One thing I've learned over the years is that you're never too old to learn something new, start a new adventure, or create a life you enjoy. Retirement didn't slow me down—it simply gave me the opportunity to explore new interests and share what I've learned along the way.
Whether you're looking for better sleep, a little more comfort, travel inspiration, or simply reassurance that you're not alone in this stage of life, I hope you'll find something helpful here.
Thank you for visiting Healthy Living & Thriving.
Wishing you wellness, comfort, and many restful nights ahead,
Mary
